Mobile Devices

I don't know that I completely agree with the statement, "Students with mobile devices are slowly redefining some fundamental campus rules." It is found in the article, Teaching in the Wireless Cloud. I agree that students use more technology than some of the teachers. However, it is up to the teachers to monitor what the students are doing. If the teacher can not control the situation, then it is up to that teacher to find a new way of doing things. Yes, it would be frustrating, but that's teaching. Technology is changing fast. Teachers have to change with it. Students are going to get by with whatever they can, especially if they are only in the class because they have to be. Maybe, students are redefining rules, but if they are it is only because the teacher allows it. In some ways it might be good, technology is going to be at the heart of everything. They need to know how to use it.
